Norton Rose Fulbright launches NT Analyzer technology product

New York, May 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that it has launched Network Traffic (NT) Analyzer, a first-of-its-kind data protection tool suite that helps companies detect and track the collection and sharing of data.

This high-tech offering will help businesses determine if they comply with various laws and regulations related to protecting people’s personal, financial, medical and other information. NT Analyzer is valuable because most of the data it detects is not otherwise visible to companies as they try to comply with a myriad of data privacy and data protection laws on a global level. The tool suite then provides insights about how the data collected may be covered by various global privacy and data protection laws (such as GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and the California Consumer Privacy Act).

Steven Roosa, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Head of NRF Digital Analytics and Technology Assessment Platform, led the development effort of NT Analyzer, with substantial input from the firm’s global Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity team. The global team formally introduced NT Analyzer this week at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit in Washington, DC.

The tool can test a company’s data in any Norton Rose Fulbright office, in the cloud, on-site and elsewhere upon request. It also provides powerful features that allow users to immediately navigate from high-level summaries to particular data of interest in the network traffic itself. This is valuable for technical and development teams who support remediation efforts around privacy and data protection.

Roosa, who advises companies on a wide array of technology and legal issues pertaining to privacy and data security, said:

“Companies are forced to rely on representations of third parties in the ad ecosystem and others for information about data collection and sharing. This approach is perilous and, now, unnecessary. NT Analyzer empowers companies to control their own data due diligence."

Chris Cwalina, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Global Co-Head of Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity, added:

“NT Analyzer underscores Norton Rose Fulbright’s global commitment to innovation and to helping our clients protect data to the fullest extent possible. We are thrilled to offer this advanced product to meet our clients’ needs in a rapidly changing data environment.”
