Alluxio Launches New Website to Better Serve Global Open Source Community of Data and Cloud Developers

Company merges previous domains to increase focus on its open source community

SAN MATEO, Calif., May 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alluxio, developer of open source data orchestration software for the cloud used by seven of the world’s top 10 Internet companies, today unveiled a redesigned website – alluxio.io – that merges the previous .org and .com domains with new features and documentation designed to better serve Alluxio’s global open source developer community.

“Alluxio is committed to its global open source community in building the world’s first data orchestration platform for analytics and machine learning for the cloud,” said Haoyuan (H.Y.) Li, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Alluxio. “We’re increasing our investment in people, tools and resources in our community effort to continuously improve the experience for the developers with our software and community. The new website is the latest demonstration of our commitment.”

The new website is designed for developers. Starting with the home page, it’s now easy to get started with Alluxio in any software stack it supports in the ecosystem. Choose your data-driven application framework, choose your storage system and see the code snippet you need to start working right away. It’s never been easier to harness the power of Alluxio. A simplified download process launches the Community Edition, and you can also request the Enterprise Edition, and try out Alluxio in a sandbox setting. All of the Enterprise Edition documentation is now publicly available to help you explore enterprise features in depth.

The community section shows who is involved in Alluxio, where the communities are located, who are the main contributors and all the different ways developers can connect with Alluxio and the community. And any bookmarks from the earlier Alluxio websites will continue to work on the new site.

“As we continue to focus on the open source community, one of our goals was to improve our website to better serve our community,” said Bin Fan, founding member and vice president of Open Source at Alluxio. “We’ve made the site much more intuitive for developers, easy to navigate content, made everything searchable, surfaced to the homepage everything you need to get started on Alluxio and built out an entire new section designed just for our community. We hope you like the new site and we welcome your feedback.”
