Itronics Expands Management Team to Accelerate Its “Zero Waste” Project Developments and the Auric Fulstone Project


RENO, Nev., May 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Itronics Inc. (OTC:ITRO), an Innovative Greentech Fertilizer, Silver, and Mineral Producer, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Whitney & Whitney, Inc., has expanded its management team by hiring John Key, a seasoned mining executive, to manage Itronics’ development projects and to take a leadership role in converting Whitney & Whitney, Inc.’s partially owned subsidiary, Auric Gold & Minerals, Inc. into an operating company.

Whitney & Whitney which is widely recognized in the mining industry, is the technical services subsidiary of Itronics and provides administrative services, project management and R & D management for Itronics subsidiaries and related partnerships.  Whitney & Whitney is developing the expansion plans and “Zero Waste” projects for Itronics Metallurgical and is managing the Auric Fulstone project in Nevada for Auric Gold & Minerals.

“John Key has been appointed Vice President, Projects for Whitney & Whitney, Inc. and he has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer for Auric Gold & Minerals, Inc.  He will take the lead in obtaining financing for and implementing a Phase I drilling program for the Auric Fulstone exploration project at the newly discovered Golden Valley prospect.  Mr. Key will also assist in managing the Company’s other development projects, including planning and developing the Wabuska expansion, and managing the development projects for application of the KAM-Thio tailings metal recovery and remediation process.  One of his first projects will be the Comstock tailings processing project,” said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President.

Mr. Key is a successful and innovative mining engineer, operating manager, and chief executive with proven success, including COO of Pine Point Mining Limited, CEO of a base metals junior, CEO and President of a public gold mining company, and an Operating General Manager with Teck Cominco, formerly Cominco Ltd.  His operating experience includes rebuilding and funding a junior gold company and taking the exploration company into production, 20 years of mine management in increasingly diverse situations and lead roles in operating, capital, political, and development.  Operations managed include Red Dog, the world’s largest zinc mine, Polaris Mine, 60 km from the magnetic north pole, and an underground lead/zinc mine at Magmont in Missouri.
