PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., May 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Secure Technology Alliance announced today the agenda details for Securing Federal Identity 2019, the nation’s premier event for government-led cybersecurity policy and digital identity technology trends. • Securing Critical Infrastructure and the Federal Government – What Problem is Government Trying to Solve? Ross Foard, CDM Sr. Engineer & ICAM SME, US CISA, Cybersecurity Division, DHS will be presenting how the use of federal enterprise-wide digital identity credentials enables government to achieve its mission to secure critical infrastructure and serve government agencies, workers and citizens.
• FAA – Using Secure Identification for Managing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - Robert Segers, Aeronautical and Weather Services Technical Manager, FAA, will share a unique use case for how PKI and strong authentication are being used to protect the FAA’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
• The Search for Trust in a Haystack of Digital Authenticators - David Temoshok, Senior Policy Advisor, Applied Cybersecurity, NIST IT Laboratories, will explain what authenticators are being used, what new authenticators are being considered for securing federal identity and how they align with SP800-63-3.
• What Happens When Identity Authenticators Are No Longer Safe and Protected – An expert panel will examine where stolen credentials end up and what impact identity breaches have on applications dependent on cloud services.
• A View of the Identity Applications for Mobile Driver’s Licenses and REAL ID – Geoff Slagle, Director, Identity Management, AAMVA will explain why state governments across the nation are exploring mobile driver’s licenses to address a wide range of identification and enforcement needs.
• New Approaches for Authentication – How SAML, OpenID Connect, FIDO-enabled Devices Align with SP 800-63 - Andrew Regenscheid, Mathematician, NIST, will discuss federal uses for digital authentication across multiple mobile and web-enabled services.
• Use of Multi-factor Authentication to Access Secure Government Services – A panel of speakers will cover different use cases of government-issued security credentials and access to secure facilities and networks.

The conference continues the second day with government leaders from NIST, GSA, and OMB providing updates on critical standards efforts and security policies for protecting federal employees and agency assets. The day concludes with an interactive panel discussion, “Future of Mobile Identity in Government,” which will also serve as a lead-in to the afternoon add-on Mobile Identity Workshop.
