OAKLAND, Calif., May 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Gravitational unveiled the latest edition of its Kubernetes packaging solution, Gravity, at KubeCon + CloudNative Europe in Barcelona. The new edition gives customers greater insight into their Kubernetes application's performance and metrics, provides new features for auditors to gain data (required for compliance), and helps them support their customers or channel partners with an easy to publish, manage, and operate application catalogs.
Kubernetes is rapidly becoming the tool of choice for modern application delivery, but becomes prohibitively complex as companies need to run hundreds of clusters in different environments. Gravity allows customers to simply use industry-standard Helm charts to package multiple Kubernetes-based applications and all their dependencies, including Kubernetes itself. It captures applications as cluster images and is then able to run them anywhere – on any cloud platform, private cloud, or even in air-gapped environments.

The latest edition of Gravity includes:
- An all new multi-cloud control plane that makes it much easier for companies to publish cluster images and remotely manage Kubernetes clusters.
- An application catalog to publish cluster images, including some popular open source applications packaged as cluster images which provides an example of how customers can publish similar catalogs for their clients.
- A new audit log UI with advanced security features for auditing access of the cluster via Kubernetes API and SSH, which provides further insight into cluster access and recorded sessions.
- A new monitoring dashboard for better visibility and insight in the cluster state.
Customers can also optionally use a free open-source Kubernetes network encryption plug-in, Gravitational Wormhole, along with Gravity, to provide additional security for their Kubernetes network. Wormhole was announced earlier this month.
