Back by Popular Demand: Governing Releases New Episodes of Podcast “In the Arena”

“In the Arena” will restore your faith in government.

SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Governing is releasing new episodes of its highly-regarded podcast, In the Arena, hosted by Governing President Cathilea Robinett. The podcast features top state and local government leaders who are making a difference in the public sector and challenging the status quo. In the Arena was selected as a top podcast for urban innovators by Bloomberg Cities in 2018.

The podcast was inspired by Theodore Roosevelt’s famous speech regarding his own time, “In the Arena.” Robinett takes listeners on a virtual tour through the halls of city, county and state governments to bring them a slice of the best in American leadership today.

“My hope is that people around the country hear these interviews and listen to people who are doing remarkable things and it restores their faith in government,” said Robinett.

The first episode of 2019 features the State’s Attorney for Cook County, Illinois, Kim Foxx.

“I appreciate the fact that there is a platform that shares the stories of people who are putting in the hard work for all of us,” Foxx said about the podcast. “A strong democracy helps us all.”

Past episodes of In the Arena featured Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti; Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota; Mayor Acquanetta Warren of Fontana, Calif.; Mayor Steve Benjamin of Columbia, N.C. and more.
