Finland’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment approved Telenor’s acquisition of DNA Plc’s shares

Telenor got the approval for its acquisition of DNA’s shares from Finland’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment on 19 August 2019. On 8 August 2019, DNA got the approval of the Finnish Government according to which the change in ownership has no effect on DNA’s network licences.

Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor Group announced on 9 April 2019 that it will acquire DNA's two largest owners', Finda Telecoms Oy and PHP Holding Oy's, shares of DNA Plc, in total 54% of the shares.

European Commission approved the transaction on 15 July 2019 and Finda and PHP's general meetings approved the transaction on May 2019.

Telenor expects completion of the share transaction in August. After this, Telenor will trigger a mandatory public tender offer for all the remaining outstanding shares in DNA.

DNA’s operations will continue as normal and the transaction has no impact on our customers’ services.
