Celularity To Be Added To The Russell 3000® Index And The Small-Cap Russell 2000®

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., June 08, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Celularity Inc. (Nasdaq: CELU) (“Celularity”), a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing placental-derived off-the-shelf allogeneic cell therapies, today announced it is set to join the broad-market Russell 3000 and the Russell 2000 Indexes at the conclusion of the 2022 Russell indexes annual reconstitution, effective after the U.S. market opens on June 27, 2022 according to a preliminary list of additions posted June 3, 2022.

“We are excited to be included in the Russell indexes, which represents the achievement of another key milestone for Celularity after becoming a public company last year,” commented Robert J. Hariri, M.D., Ph.D., founder, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Celularity. “As we continue to advance clinical development of our pipeline, we believe our addition to the Russell indexes will broaden awareness of the biological advantages of placental-derived cell therapies, including both greater proliferative performance and natural immune tolerance. We remain committed to leading the next evolution of cellular therapies for the treatment of cancer, immunological and degenerative diseases using our highly proprietary placental-derived cell therapy platform.”

Annual Russell indexes reconstitution captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of May 6th, ranking them by total market capitalization. Membership in the U.S. all-cap Russell 3000® Index, which remains in place for one year, also means automatic inclusion in the small-cap Russell 2000 Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. FTSE Russell determines membership for its Russell indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $12 trillion in assets are benchmarked against Russell’s U.S. indexes. Russell indexes are part of FTSE Russell, a leading global index provider.
