Corbion reduces energy use and emissions at its site in Montmeló

Industrial manufacturing sites require energy for heating and cooling processes. At Corbion Montmeló in Spain, an initiative was started to explore ways to reduce energy consumption by heat integration. By connecting cold and hot flows using heat exchangers, we can minimize the need for additional energy sources. This not only saves natural gas but also decreases CO2 emissions. Implementing several improvement actions will result in yearly energy savings of 182,2 toe (tonne of oil equivalent) and a reduction of 471 tons of CO2 emissions.

This Corbion project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) and managed by IDEA and ICAEN under the National Energy Efficiency Fund that aims to achieve a cleaner and sustainable economy. We want to thank these organizations for helping us to preserve what matters, and we are proud of the sustainability benefits that are achieved with this new equipment.
