Safe Bulkers, Inc. Announces Sale of a 2015-built Kamsarmax Class Dry-bulk Vessel


MONACO, Nov. 27, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Safe Bulkers, Inc. (the Company) (NYSE: SB), an international provider of marine drybulk transportation services, announced today that it has entered into an agreement for the sale of MV Pedhoulas Cherry, a 2015 Chinese-built, Kamsarmax class, dry-bulk vessel at a gross sale price of $26.6 million and an estimated forward delivery in January to February 2024.

Dr. Loukas Barmparis, President of the Company, commented: “As we take delivery of Phase 3 newbuilds we decided to proceed with a selective sale of MV Pedhoulas Cherry at a price we consider attractive. Company’s remaining orderbook includes seven more Phase 3 newbuilds, two of which are methanol dual fuel, with delivery dates three in 2024, two in 2025, one in 2026, and one in 2027, targeting one of the most environmentally efficient dry bulk fleets in the market.”
