Saily makes group travel easier with new expense sharing feature

LONDON, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Saily, the travel eSIM service created by the team behind NordVPN, has introduced a new expense sharing feature designed to simplify one of the most frustrating parts of group travel: keeping track of who paid for what.

The new tool helps travelers split costs, track balances, and reduce the number of payments needed to settle group expenses. Available through the Profile tab in the Saily app, it can be used by all logged in Saily users without additional eligibility requirements.

Whether one person pays for dinner, another covers a taxi, and someone else books the accommodation, travelers can keep their group spending organized in one place.

Less time calculating, more time traveling

Managing shared expenses can quickly become complicated, particularly during longer trips involving multiple people and currencies. Saily’s new feature gives travelers a continuously updated overview of their group spending, reducing the need for separate spreadsheets, notes, or end of trip calculations.

“Group trips should be remembered for the experiences, not for uncomfortable conversations about money. With expense sharing, we want to remove another small but common source of travel stress and help people stay organized from the moment they leave until everyone is back home,” says Vykintas Maknickas, CEO of Saily.

With Saily’s expense sharing feature, travelers can:

  • Create a group, choose its name, icon, and default currency, and invite up to 20 members.
  • Invite travelers by email, including those who do not yet have the Saily app. Every group member can also invite additional participants.
  • Add expenses in different currencies and split them equally, unequally, or by percentage.
  • Automatically convert expenses into the group’s default currency using current exchange rates.
  • See continuously updated balances showing who owes whom and how much.
  • Use “Smart settle” to combine debts and reduce the number of payments needed to settle the group’s balances.
  • Record settlements, review the settlement history, and archive completed trips.

From an eSIM to a travel companion

The launch marks another step in Saily’s expansion beyond mobile connectivity. The app already combines flexible data plans with built in web protection, an ad blocker, and a virtual location feature. Travelers can also add a US phone number for calls and texts, use Saily credits to book travel perks such as airport lounge access and fast track, or choose Saily Ultra for global data and additional premium travel benefits. Together with expense sharing, these features bring more of the travel experience into one app and support Saily’s ambition to become an all in one travel companion.
