Leather Taboo has introduced a new all-black leather varsity jacket designed around classic American varsity styling and heritage-inspired detailing. Tonal Black Design Focuses on Texture and Detail
The all-black colorway uses a combination of black cowhide, black lettering, gunmetal studs and subtle silver outlining. Rather than relying on contrasting colors, the jacket's design is intended to become more visible as light catches the textured surface of the hardware and leather.
The back features large “Pelle Pelle” block lettering outlined in silver and finished with gunmetal studs. Beneath the lettering is a tonal “True To Our Roots” script, accompanied by a “Steadfast – Resolute” banner and circular crest. Additional elements include “Established,” “Genuine Leather,” a large studded “1978” and silver signature-style script.
According to Leather Taboo, the studs are individually set through the leather by hand. This construction approach gives the artwork a raised, textured appearance rather than the flat finish associated with printed graphics.

The jacket follows a relaxed varsity bomber silhouette with a shirt-style leather collar, full-length front zipper, side-entry welt pockets and ribbed knit cuffs and hem.The front design is intentionally more restrained than the back. It incorporates tonal “True To Our Roots” script, a banner-style crest and an embossed “1978” detail on the left chest. A circular crest badge is positioned on the right sleeve.
The jacket is constructed from smooth-grain black cowhide and features a full satin-feel lining. Black-finish hardware and gunmetal studs maintain the monochromatic appearance throughout the garment.
Leather Taboo describes the fit as a relaxed varsity cut with a dropped shoulder and sizing intended to follow standard U.S. measurements.
