NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- STV Group, Incorporated, a leading professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced it has acquired Southern California-based utility power engineering firm CHAMPS, Inc.
CHAMPS, Inc., will now be known as CHAMPS, an STV Company. The firm provides substation engineering and design from conceptual planning through construction and energization, along with engineering studies, protection, control and automation, design packages, quality assurance and construction support for such clients as Southern California Edison.

Signature power projects include substation and grid infrastructure upgrades for Con Edison in New York City, traction power substations along TriMet’s MAX Blue Line in Portland, Oregon, traction power improvements for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and data center power replacement services at Fairfax County’s Operations Center in Virginia, supporting continuous, mission critical operations.
In the West, STV has delivered major projects spanning comprehensive engineering, planning and design services for commuter rail, light rail, bus, zero emissions vehicles and maintenance facilities. Recent transportation projects include Sound Transit's East Link and Northgate Link Extensions Systems Construction, LA Metro Zero-Emissions Bus Program and LA Metro Purple Line Extension Section 2 and Section 3. The firm also led the development and evaluation of alternatives for the LAX Landside Access Modernization Program and provided program management/construction management (PM/CM) and project controls services for the addition of nine new gates in Terminal 3 at LAX.
