LINCOLNSHIRE, IL--(Marketwire - June 7, 2010) - Camping World, America's largest recreational vehicle retailer and RV maintenance/repair provider, announced today their decision to terminate their long standing relationship with BP's Castrol Oil, effective immediately. This decision is based on BP's oil release that has resulted in the catastrophe off the Gulf Coast.
"We at Camping World are saddened by the impact the disaster has had on the communities we serve," said Marcus Lemonis, Camping World Chairman & CEO. "We consider BP's behavior irresponsible and wish to sever our relationship. BP's Castrol Oil will no longer be offered at any Camping World location nationwide," Lemonis added.
Camping World will deplete their remaining inventory of BP's Castrol Oil products and donate the proceeds to helping in the disaster relief efforts. They are currently in discussions with several leading product providers to replace the significant category of their service/repair business. Camping World expects to name a replacement provider in the coming weeks.
