IT - INET Nordic - a new exchange for First North Finland (25/11)


NASDAQ OMX Helsinki opens a new Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF), First North Finland, in Finland to host First North Finland companies.

As of April 4, 2011, a new exchange (MIC=FNFI) will be created with the name First North Finland and the existing segment for First North HEL (110) and its turnover lists will be renamed. This segment, its order books and the related turnover lists will be connected to this new exchange (FNFI).

As of the same date a new segment will be created under exchange First North Stockholm (MIC=FNSE) together with related turnover list.

Also, at the same time a cleanup will be made regarding the First North Stockholm turnover lists connected currently to the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm: connection will be moved to the First North Stockholm (FNSE).

  • New exchange FNFI (seq. no 21) will be created.
  • Name change in market segment 110 to First North Finland - Existing segment number remains. Segment will be connected to the new FNFI exchange.
  • Name change in list id 82837/ list population id 82838 to First North Finland and list id 116185/ list population id 116197 to First North Finland Premier – Existing numbers remain. Lists will be connected to the new FNFI exchange.
  • New market segment 193, new list id 124607 and list population id 123649 to FNSE exchange.
  • First North Stockholm lists now connected to XSTO exchange will be connected to FNSE exchange. Existing numbers remain.

 Change procedure and consequences
Only valid for the order books on current market segment First North HEL/Finland (seq. no 110).

  • Good-Till-Cancel (GTC) orders will be deleted after closing on Friday April 1. You have to consider reentering these orders again on Monday April 4.
  • Trade Reporting Deferred Publication: not allowed to submit such trades on Friday April 1 to be published on Monday April 4. If such TRDP trades are found they will be deleted on Friday April 1, after closing.
  • As-Of Reporting: not allowed to submit such trades on April 4 with a trade date prior to April 4.

Trading access

  • All exchange members that are members of NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Oy, will have trading access to the new First North Finland market by submitting to NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Oy a separate confirmation to be attached to their current member agreement. 
  • Those members that are member of NASDAQ OMX Stockholm AB, but not of NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Oy, will need to apply for Helsinki membership if they wish to continue to have a trading access to the new First North Finland market operated by NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Oy.

Time plan

  • TEST: This setup can be tested and verified in external test system INET Nordic OTF/GCF4 as of Monday, February 21, 2011.
  • PROD: to be launched in INET Nordic production system on Monday, April 4, 2011.

Opening hours and tick size tables in PROD will be the same as current ones in respective segments.
