Harsco's Reed Minerals Division Signs New Agreement to Supply Roofing Granules to TAMKO Roofing Products


HARRISBURG, Pa., March 1, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its Reed Minerals division, a leading supplier of roofing granules to the U.S. asphalt roofing industry, has signed a multi-million-dollar agreement to supply roofing granules to TAMKO Roofing Products, a leading, privately-held manufacturer of commercial and residential roofing and waterproofing products.

The two-year agreement, Reed's first with the Joplin, Missouri-based TAMKO organization, draws upon Reed's regional network of roofing granule manufacturing plants as supply points to ensure uninterrupted product availability. Included is Reed's new portable plant in Thomas Hill, Missouri, the division's first of this type, which is scheduled to begin operations in the second quarter of this year.

Announcing the agreement, Reed Minerals division president Brian H. Tucker said, "This welcome new partnership adds strength and breadth to our customer base, and ideally complements our growth strategies for adding portable plant capacity with only minimal capital investment."
