Gauss and NewWave Technologies Form Distribution Partnership

HAMBURG, Germany/IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 24, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gauss, the leading global provider of unified content management solutions for the extended enterprise, today announced that Gauss and NewWave Technologies, a full service distributor with 2000 resellers nationwide in the document management space, have formed a distribution partnership. In the initial stage of the deal, NewWave will distribute the NT-supported version of VIP SpyVision -- the multi-platform document management and workflow module of the VIP unified content management platform.

The first phase will also entail joint marketing and training programs. NewWave Technologies is expected to promote VIP's Web content and Portal management modules in subsequent phases of the partnership. "This partnership underscores the growing market need for Gauss products," said Steve McBride, Gauss Director of Channel Development.

"NewWave provides a great vehicle to keep the momentum going. Not only do they have a large reseller network to work with, they enjoy a tremendous reputation for providing exemplary support to the players within that network."

NewWave Technologies' support infrastructure includes value-added services such as training, staffing and on site installations; as well as marketing services, Market development funding, mail campaigns, and telemarketing.

According to NewWave senior partner, Lenny Martin: "NewWave Technologies prides itself on offering best of breed solutions to our resellers, so we are very excited about entering this partnership with Gauss. They are an experienced company whose customers can validate they understand the industry, possess a world-class product line, and provide a solid support infrastructure." A key differentiator driving the partnership is Gauss VIP's ability to unify Web content and portal management, and document management and workflow on one integrated, modular platform. According to Martin, "VIP is a future-oriented solution that bridges the disconnect between Web initiatives and business-critical content from back office systems. Distributing opportunities are growing in this area and NewWave is getting a head start in following market-driven directives by aligning with a vendor like Gauss." Martin states that Gauss' Web-based training program was another motivating factor for NewWave Technologies.

He explains that, "Web-based training helps us reach our reseller customers more quickly and it makes it much easier to generate interest about a product. It's a great tool, and one we're excited about incorporating into the marketing program." Future joint marketing efforts as well as the distribution program for VIP's Web Content and Portal management components are being developed.
