The Nokia 3330 combines WAP with fun and exciting new features for the broad consumer market


Nokia has today announced the first WAP-enabled phone in its expression category. With the WAP 1.1 browser, the Nokia 3330 offers access to entertainment and services for the young and the young at heart. The product will be available in the second quarter 2001.

They may already be familiar with Internet and entertainment services, but are looking for efficient ways of receiving information while on the move. The Nokia 3330 introduces a new set of features for Club Nokia Members. The gaming capabilities are improved with a totally new game 'Bumper', as well as with new game packs for Space Impact and Snake II, downloadable to the phone over WAP from Club Nokia. Users can send high scores to Club Nokia and compete with other players. Totally new are also the animated screen savers, downloadable from Club Nokia as well.

In addition, the new phone enables its user to play individual or interactive multi-party WAP games that are available on several operator portals. Nokia offers as a hosted service to operators and service providers a constantly growing mobile game portfolio developed by Nokia and third parties via the Nokia Mobile Entertainment Service.

Other new features in the Nokia 3330 include voice dialling with capacity for dialling eight numbers, an internal phone book for 100 names, and a new 'first vibrate then ring' ringing option.
The messaging functionality in the Nokia 3330 incorporates the mobile chat feature. Enhanced messaging capabilities include predictive text input for easy and fast chat as well as picture messaging with 12 default pictures and space for a picture received over the air. The Nokia 3330 also supports concatenated messaging enabling three times longer messages than usual.

The Nokia 3330 has three exciting new graphical Xpress-on(TM) covers with a picture holder inside the cover, where you can keep a picture of someone special in sight. In addition, the Nokia 3330 has four accessory Xpress-on(TM) colored covers and three graphical covers. All the Nokia 3310 accessories, including the colored covers, are also compatible with this phone. The dual band Nokia 3330 is an excellent performer in EGSM 900/1800 networks. Weighing only 133 grams it provides up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 260 hours of standby time using the standard NiMH battery.
