WALNUT CREEK, CA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2008) - Uniting the way business works with the
way people work, Emportal today
welcomed five more enterprise clients to its growing customer base.
Emportal eliminates the challenges of managing disparate HR systems and
databases by combining the best capabilities of four categories of human
capital management -- HRMS, ERP, point solutions and HRO -- into one "have
it your way" software-as-a-service solution. New companies turning to
Emportal include FCI; California Waste Solutions; ION; a California
headquartered restaurant chain; and a Chicago headquartered payroll and
retirement provider.
Headquartered in France, with operations in 30 countries and over 14,200
employees, FCI is a leading manufacturer of connectors. FCI USA Inc., part of
the France-based connector manufacturer, has engaged Emportal to track and
report on their America's organization supporting the U.S., Canada, Brazil,
Mexico and Honduras. This has given FCI USA increased visibility into its
workforce. Corporate Vice President of Compensation and Benefits Susan
Stopa said, "Emportal is the only HR platform we have found that could
provide FCI with the capability to manage and report on our global
workforce while allowing us to maintain the investments we have made in
various HR point solutions. Most importantly, Emportal is intuitive and
easy to use -- a key point for FCI when considering a global solution that
everyone can use."
Based in San Jose, Calif., California
Waste Solutions went live with Emportal in Q4 2007 and recently
integrated the solution with its existing payroll vendor. As part of the
integration, California Waste also deployed Emportal's benefits
administration, employee and manager self-service functions. Company CFO
Ted Farber commented, "We're in a high-growth industry and require an HR
solution that can leverage the latest technology, is easy to use and
delivers robust functionality. Emportal has definitely proven the value of
our investment in their unique approach."
One of Emportal's newest clients is Houston, Texas-based ION, a leading technology-focused seismic
solutions company. ION replaced existing systems, such as Employease, with
Emportal to manage their global workforce of 1,400 workers. Kathleen
Kelley, vice president, HR, explained ION's decision to select Emportal,
"Emportal provides one platform for all worker types to access the HR
system. It integrates with our payroll system, as well as our existing
investments in other HR services such as talent acquisition and performance
management." ION's HRIS Director Deanna Newsome added, "Emportal is the
only HR system where I can get all of my HR data in one repository, plus a
superior user interface and excellent integration capabilities."
Mark Robinson, Emportal's co-founder, president and CEO, commented, "Every
customer's needs are different, as are those of the various people who make
up the workplace, such as employees, independent contractors, temporary
workers, and vendors. Whether it's investment protection, adding new
services, or managing a dynamic, changing business model or workforce,
customers want to choose what's right for their business, and that's
exactly what Emportal does. We believe the old 'one size fits all' model
forced by traditional enterprise solutions is a thing of the past and that
the future of software is to enable service choice, not module choice.
Listening to our customers and being able to deliver what they need, the
way want it, is truly rewarding and exciting."
