Canadian Poker Tour Presents Major Championship Poker Event With Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority

Continued Expansion for CPT a Testament to Growing Market Opportunities

CALGARY, Alberta, July 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. (Pink Sheets:HDUP), operators of the Canadian Poker Tour, Canadian Poker Player Magazine and the Canadian Poker Player Television Network, are pleased to announce the SIGA Poker Championship October 1st and 2nd at the Dakota Dunes Casino located just outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is the first time the CPT and the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority have partnered on an event that looks to be the beginning of a strong partnership.

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) is the operator of six First Nations casinos in Saskatchewan. The casinos are located across the province: Bear Claw Casino (Moose Mountain Provincial Park), Dakota Dunes Casino (Saskatoon), Gold Eagle Casino (North Battleford), Living Sky Casino (Swift Current), Northern Lights Casino (Prince Albert) and Painted Hand Casino (Yorkton).

Satellites for the $500 buy in championship event in October will take place at all facilities making it one of the premier events in Western Canada. "We are extremely pleased to be working with SIGA," stated CPT President Dan Forigo. "We look forward to building a long and profitable relationship with them and are confident that the events we are working on for 2012 will continue to grow."

The CPT has been working aggressively with casinos in Canada and the U.S. to build new larger land based poker events to capture the demand created by the shut down of a number on online poker sites in the U.S. Canada is an attractive option for U.S. players as there is no withholding tax for winnings and the age to gamble is 18 and 19 in the varying provinces.  Management is projecting substantial growth in 2011 and revenues look to grow even higher with new sponsorship partners and demand for television.  The looming NBA strike could have a similar effect to what the NHL lockout did for reallocation of sponsorship and television revenues for the poker industry in the 2004-2005 season.
