STATE COLLEGE, Pa., May 19, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Minitab Express 1.5, an update to the most recent version of this statistical software package for introductory statistics, adds the ability to import from Excel, bootstrapping and randomization tests, and new regression features.

Bootstrapping is a resampling technique that makes no assumption about the distribution, and is a great tool for helping students understand statistical concepts such as sampling distributions. "We've released these new features in Express as part of our ongoing commitment to providing the academic market with the tools they need to teach and learn statistics," says Paret.
With its user-friendly interface and intuitive menus designed to complement leading textbooks, students can use Minitab Express on Mac or PC to quickly analyze their data—benefits that continue in the newest version, which easily imports Microsoft Excel files directly into Minitab Express, includes resampling techniques, new regression features, and more.
Minitab Express 1.5 includes binary logistic regression, which enables users to identify important variables and create predictive models for a binary response. Best subsets and stepwise regression offer two model reduction techniques to identify the best regression equation.
Instructors also have access to new lesson plans for teaching core statistical concepts using Minitab Express or Minitab 17. Class outlines, instructor notes, exercises, answer keys, and Minitab data sets are included.
