Advanced Cyber Security Center to hold Campaign Cyber Defense Workshop June 4th at Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Industry, government and academic experts collaborate to explore strategies for strengthening election security and campaign reputation management


BOSTON, April 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC) today announced a Campaign Cyber Defense Workshop, to focus on effective cyber security practices for campaigns. The event will take place Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

The Campaign Cyber Defense Workshop brings together experts from the region’s industry, university, and government organizations to address campaign security and effective practices for maintaining campaign integrity -- covering everything from data security to countering reputation attacks.

The event will arm those in Massachusetts and New England with effective methods to address campaign cybersecurity. Featured speakers at the ACSC Campaign Cyber Defense Workshop include:

The event will focus upon key campaign security topics including:

Reputation Management and Defense -- Effective practices in monitoring media channels and detecting misinformation attacks. Reporting and response mechanisms to combat such attacks.

Campaign Cyber Defense -- Experts will cover what resources are available to protect political campaign operations, messaging, and data. What are common sources and modes of attack that campaign officials should be aware of and what resources are available to better protect campaign assets?
