Neoware Acquires Visara's Thin Client Business
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. and MORRISVILLE, N.C., Sept. 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Neoware Systems (Nasdaq:NWRE) and privately-held Visara International, which owns the business previously known as Memorex Telex, today announced that Neoware has acquired Visara's thin client business including all thin client assets, licenses to intellectual property, customer lists, customer contracts and non-competition agreements, for approximately $3.7 million in cash plus a potential earn-out based upon performance. In addition to the acquisition of Visara's thin client business, Neoware and Visara have entered into an agreement under which Neoware will promote and sell Visara's enterprise product lines. Effective immediately, all Visara thin client products are available directly from Neoware and from Neoware and Visara-authorized resellers.

Markland Subsidiary Awarded New $4.8M Contract by U.S. Army's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate
RIDGEFIELD, Conn., Sept. 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Markland Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:MRKL) (http://www.marklandtech.com), an integrated homeland security company, announced today that the U.S. Army's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) has awarded EOIR Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Markland, a new contract in the amount of $4.8M. This new contract award is part of an ongoing NVESD Omnibus contract. This funding award is for EOIR to provide support services for a Close Combat Sensors task delivery order on the Omnibus contract. This will bring the total dollars awarded to EOIR on this NVESD Omnibus contract since 1 July 2004 to approximately $17.0M. This Omnibus contract is a major source of EOIR Technologies Inc revenues.
