Exiqon A/S (NASDAQ OMX: EXQ), a leading supplier of high-value products for gene expression analysis, today announced the launch of its miRCURY LNA™ microRNA Family Inhibitors for efficient inactivation of microRNA families.
The new miRCURY LNA™ microRNA Family Inhibitors enable researchers to inactivate the biological function of entire microRNA families in just one experiment. The new LNA™ enabled products offered exclusively by Exiqon will allow scientists to save time and cost and at the same time conduct more robust experiments than previously possible.
Exiqon’s microRNA Family Inhibitors inactivate all microRNAs within a given microRNA family using only a single or a few LNA™ enhanced oligonucleotides. The required amount of oligonucleotide can be kept at a non-toxic level, as each inhibitor targets more than one microRNA. In addition, LNA™ increases the binding affinity and the biological stability of the oligonucleotides.
The new miRCURY LNA™ microRNA Family Inhibitors are short antisense oligonucleotide targeting primarily the microRNA seed sequences conserved among members of a specific microRNA family. It is well acknowledged that the seed sequence has an essential role in the initial binding to the mRNAs.
