Lysaker, 27 October 2004 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): In week 43, the total Norwegian net import of electricity was 306 GWh. During the last eight weeks, the Norwegian net import has been relatively high, with an aggregated net import of 1.7 TWh. In comparison, Norway had a net export of 0.4 TWh during the same period last year. The Norwegian power production is relatively low for this time of year, and during week 43, there was a production of 2.0 TWh. This is 0.7 TWh lower than week 43 last year. For the second week in a row, the inflow of water to the Norwegian reservoirs was below normal, and for the second week in a row the filling level in the reservoirs declined. At the start of week 44, the filling level was 79.3 percent, after a reduction during week 43 of 0.4 percentage points. It is Northern Norway that has experienced the highest reductions in the reservoir filling level, with 1.3 percentage points. In Sweden, the reservoir filling level declined by 0.6 percentage points, and is now 80.6 percent. The announced price for the standard variable price contract to consumers have been stable the last few weeks. In week 46, the announced average price for the dominating suppliers in 26 grid areas is 0.351 NOK/KWh.
