Lysaker, 19 April 2006 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): The electricity production in Norway fell with 12 percent from week 14 to week 15. Less demand, due to Easter holidays and milder weather contributed to the reduced production level. In the past three weeks there has been a net import of electricity to Norway, totalling 0.4 TWh. There has also been import to the Nordic area from Germany this week, due to lower prices in Germany. The Nordic net import observed in week 15 was the highest since summer 2004. The effective inflow in Norway was below normal in week 15. Still, the reduction in the reservoir filling dropped less than earlier this winter, due to the production drop. During week 15 the level in the Norwegian reservoir dropped with 2.0 percentage points to 31.7 percent. The level in Sweden is now 19.9 percent, after a 1.9 percentage point drop in week 15. ------------------------------- Contact person at the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate: Marit Lundteigen Fossdal, NVE, tel: +47 2295 9353
