Stockholm, Sweden - Net Insight, a leading provider of efficient
optical transport solutions for media, broadcast and IP networks have
signed a frame agreement with, and received a first order from
Teracom for delivery of Nimbra equipment to a media contribution
network in Sweden.
Teracom is Sweden's first media operator, providing services within
radio, TV, broadband and digital communications. The company consists
of Teracom and the subsidiary Boxer TV-Access, which offers pay TV
services distributed to households through Teracom's network. Teracom
is owned by the Swedish government and operates Sweden's broadcasting
infrastructure.
Teracom owns and operates an extensive terrestrial media network and
is now deploying a core network interconnecting its media
contribution networks in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö.
The network is built for simultaneous transport of uncompressed and
compressed video (HD-SDI, SD-SDI and ASI) based on Net Insight's
Nimbra 680 and the eight-port Video Access Module, which allows for a
wide variety of configurations and a mix of service content.
This initial order includes Nimbra nodes that will provide efficient
transport of video with guaranteed 100 percent QoS at
industry-leading bandwidth utilization levels. The equipment will be
