Telenor: Invitation to Press Conference in Stockholm Today, 1:30 p.m.

Telenor and BT Agree on Future Ownership in Telenordia


STOCKHOLM, Sweden and OSLO, Norway, June 1, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telenor (Nasdaq:TELN) and British Telecom (BT), who presently each own 50% of Telenordia, have entered into an agreement whereby Telenor will take over the company in Sweden. At the same time, BT will establish a new company which will principally build further on Telenordia's activities and supplying CONCERT services (international calling and data communications). By doing this, Telenor is released from their shareholder agreement with BT and can be a more active player in the Swedish market.

In connection with this, there will be a press conference:
