SoundBite Communications to Speak About Impact of Mobile on Collections at Telecommunications Risk Management Association's Spring Conference

Panel Discussions Will Also Address the Evolving Regulatory Landscape

BEDFORD, Mass., April 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SoundBite Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:SDBT), a leading provider of customer experience management solutions, will speak on two panels at the Telecommunications Risk Management Association's (TRMA) Spring conference, April 9-10 in Scottsdale, AZ. TRMA conferences provide a forum for telecommunications risk management professionals to discuss trends and share best practices related to reducing fraud and uncollectible debt issues.

SoundBite invites conference attendees to a panel on the FCC's recent declaratory ruling, which will discuss SoundBite's efforts in securing clarification of the FCC's interpretation of TCPA for mobile customer communications. Advocating on behalf of its clients and the industry, SoundBite secured a successful FCC Declaratory Ruling in late 2012, resulting in a number of lawsuit dismissals. SoundBite and the additional panelists will also discuss how the benefits of mobile can be achieved in a compliant way.

"We are proud to share with TRMA attendees our success in petitioning for a declaratory ruling last year which clarified opt-out text confirmations," said John Tallarico, vice president of product management at SoundBite Communications. "This decision helped remove ambiguity in existing regulations, which industry advocates needed as mobile continues to become the communications channel of choice across industries and the consumer lifecycle."

SoundBite is also participating in a second panel on adding digital channels to collections strategies. This discussion will explore the benefits of adding additional channels such as text messaging and email to collections strategies and how this can increase portfolio penetration, collect more debt faster, reach more live parties, and improve customer experience. Best practices for integrating these channels into existing collections strategies will be discussed, including how to navigate the maze of regulatory compliance.

"The telecommunications industry is embracing the use of mobile to increase collections and reduce risk," said Joe Gallagher, senior director in client management at SoundBite Communications. "Text messaging, for example, has become the preferred channel for millions of consumers due to its convenience, immediacy, and ease-of use. We have had great success increasing our clients' payments and collections by adding text to their current voice strategies."
