Norsk Hydro will construct a new Tyin power plant


Norsk Hydro decided today to construct a new Tyin water power plant in Årdal in the western part of Norway. The new plant will according to the main study give an energy production in the order of 1.4 TWh - some 0.2 TWh more than the old plant. The cost of the project is estimated to some 1.5 billion NOK. The construction period will last three years and startup is scheduled to late autumn this year. The existing power plant will be phased out when the new plant is ready autumn 2004.
