OSLO, Norway, April 19, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telenor (Nasdaq:TELN) has completed its sale of its 49.5 percent stake in Esat Digifone, and the transaction was settled according to notice of 06.02.01. The proceeds from the sale were about NOK 10.8 billion, providing an accounting profit of approx. NOK 10.1 before tax. After the settlement, Telenor's net interest bearing debt is approximately NOK 10 billion.
