Lysaker, 14 November 2007 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): Norwegian imports and increased Nordic electricity consumption For the first time since week 16, there was Norwegian net import of electric power in week 45. The electricity consumption rose in all of the Nordic countries between week 44 and 45, due to colder weather. At the same time, wind power production increased and nuclear power production was high. Norwegian exchange changed to net imports as a result of all this aspects. The inflow to the Norwegian hydro reservoirs was 2.1 TWh in week 45, witch is a little more than normal for this time of year. So far this year, the total inflow has been 22 TWh more than normal. This amounts to about 18 percent of the total Norwegian electricity consumption in 2006. Norwegian power production was higher than the inflow in week 45. Thus, the Norwegian reservoir level decreased by 0.7 percentage points to 91.7 percent at the end of the week. The reservoir level is still highest in the middle of Norway. In Sweden, the reservoir levels fell by 0.9 percentage points to 83.1 percent. ------------------------------- Contact person at the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate: Marit L.
