Lysaker, 1 August 2007 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): High power production and exports Norwegian hydropower production and exports were high also in week 30. The total Norwegian production was about 2.2 TWh. One fifth of this was exported to our neighbouring countries. The power production has now been higher than last year for 16 weeks in a row. During this period Norwegian exports amounts to 4 TWh, most of which has been exported to Sweden. Inflow to the Norwegian hydropower stations has been 93 TWh so far this year, or almost 18 TWh more than normal. In week 30 the inflow was 20 percent above normal. Even with declining inflows as a result of less rainfall and lower snow level, the inflow is still higher than the production. As a consequence, the Norwegian reservoir level increased by 1.8 percentage points, and was 89.5 percent at the end of week 30. This is 7.3 percentage points above normal. The reservoir level in Sweden is 79.1 percent after an increase of 0.9 percentage points last week. ------------------------------- Contact person at the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate: Marit L.
