Passenger numbers as expected

Almost 1.9 million passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in August
2009. This represents a 7.6% year-on-year fall, which was in line with
expectations. 

“Passenger numbers dropped in the spring, but the trend stopped over the
summer, and passenger numbers have now stabilised at a lower level than last
year. We had almost 5.8 million passengers in June, July and August, down from
6.2 million in the three holiday months of last year,” said Carsten Nørland, VP
for Aviation at Copenhagen Airports. In the first six months of the year,
passenger numbers were 13% lower than last year. 

Overall, 1,861,416 passengers travelled to or from Copenhagen Airport in August
of this year. The number of locally departing passengers fell by 3.1%, while
the number of transfer passengers was 19.3% lower than in August last year.
International traffic fell by 8.3%, while the number of domestic passengers
increased by 0.1% year-on-year.
