Giant Tiger and its Customers Team With MADD Canada to Stop Impaired Driving

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 15, 2011) - If you love shopping, great deals and want to support MADD Canada's efforts to stop impaired driving, Giant Tiger is the place to be this summer.

The Canadian retailer is hosting a special donation drive from June 18 to July 3. Giant Tiger customers will be presented with an opportunity to make a donation to help support MADD Canada's mission-to stop impaired driving and to support the victims of this violent crime-at the time they make their purchase. Giant Tiger will hand out MADD Canada's iconic red ribbons in exchange for a donation at the stores.

Giant Tiger began its summer donation drive in support of MADD Canada four years ago. To date, the retailer and its generous customers have raised $15,000.

In Canada, on average, four people are killed and 190 are injured in impaired driving crashes every day. MADD Canada and its 100 Chapters and Community Leaders across the country raise awareness and educate about the dangers of impaired driving, promote meaningful policies and laws aimed at stopping impaired driving and support victims of this senseless and criminal act.
