Genium INET Commodities Launch to be initiated today after business hours


NASDAQ OMX will launch Genium INET for Commodities incoming Monday 5 March, 2012. Today Friday 2 March, markets will close as usual, thereafter NASDAQ OMX will initiate the migration process. The present CLICK/SECUR production and CLICK/SECUR test environments will be shut down after the commodities market closes Friday evening, and will not open again.

The members that have signed up for the confidence test will be able to start the confidence test (log on to applications) around 11 CET Saturday. The confidence test will be ongoing until 15 CET, whereby all members need to have completed the confidence test and provided a test report to commodities.geniuminet@nasdaqomx.com. NASDAQ OMX will send and IT notice tomorrow Saturday to confirm the confidence test can start.

Timeline

Launch weekend to be initiated Friday 2 March after markets close

After the closing of the markets the launch preparations will be started and evening jobs will be initiated. The CLICK/SECUR production and CLICK/SECUR test environments will be shut down after the commodities market closes Friday evening, and will not open again.

The production system will have data migrated from a CLICK/SECUR production database, 2 March 2012. All current trader IDs from CLICK/SECUR production will be migrated.

Members, Brokers, Settlement Banks, Independent Software Vendors, Market Data Vendors, Service Bureaus and Data Centers should initiate their migration activities according to their launch plans.

 

Saturday 3 March  – Confidence Test

Approximately 11.00 CET on Saturday 3 March, NASDAQ OMX will have completed the migration and open the production environment for connectivity and log on to applications/reference data download. An IT notice will be sent to all member contacts to confirm that confidence testing has started.

Members and Data Centers should connect and login with all applicable applications and download reference data to prepare for Monday morning. All markets will be in closed state. The confidence test should be completed and a test report provided as soon as possible but no later than by 15.00 CET.

After completing the confidence test, each member should send an email to commodities.geniuminet@nasdaqomx.com confirming

Required information:

  • Full Member Name
  • Whether the confidence test has been successfully completed (yes/no) – if no, why
  • A verification that the member is ready to go live

Optional information:

  • User IDs used
  • Application versions used (Trading Workstation etc.)

Following the 15:00 deadline, NASDAQ OMX will compile all member confirmations, solve possible issues and decide to proceed to go live. Latest 17.30 CET NASDAQ OMX will send an IT notice to confirm that the migration has been completed and NASDAQ OMX and members are ready to go live on Monday morning. Following a successful migration, GeniumINET will be available for logins no later than 06:30 CET Monday 5th March.

 

Sunday 4 March– No activities – reserved for roll back

Sunday 4 March is reserved in case a roll back scenario. In case a roll back is necessary this will be communicated no later than 17.30 CET on Saturday. Members participating in the confidence test on Saturday need to be prepared to be available on Sunday 12-15 CET for CLICK/SECUR confidence testing if a roll-back decision is made.

Monday 5 March – Genium INET Commodities Launch

The Genium INET system will open as normal using the same schedules for current CLICK/SECUR production.

 

Communication during the launch weekend

For communication NASDAQ OMX will use a combination of e-mail list contacts, exchange/IT notices and updates on the Genium INET member extranet. NASDAQ OMX may also contact individual members for confirmation by mail or phone.

 

Test system availability

Please note that the EXT4 test environment will not open before 10 CET on 5 March to ensure member applications do not log in to test environment by mistake. After go live, the test environment will be available for a few weeks every workday from 08.00 to 15.30 CET. NASDAQ OMX will update on the availability of the test environment after go live.

Please note that we will discontinue supporting test in CLICK/SECUR EXT1 test environment from 3 March as this system will be shut down permanently due to the upgrade to Genium Inet.
