Daniel Yergin, Acclaimed Author and Leading Energy Expert to Deliver Keynote at Advanced Energy 2012 Conference

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 6, 2012) - The Advanced Energy Center (AERTC.org), a partnership of academic institutions, energy providers and industrial corporations dedicated to innovative energy research, education and technology deployment, today announced that Daniel Yergin, bestselling author and highly acclaimed expert on energy, will deliver a keynote address during the organization's Advanced Energy 2012 conference.

Yergin is a widely respected authority in the areas of energy, international economics, globalization and politics. His new best seller, The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World, has been widely praised around the world. He received the Pulitzer Prize for his book The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power. Yergin has a distinguished career as a thought leader on topics related to energy, serving as vice chairman of IHS and founder of IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates and as global energy expert for CNBC. Additionally, he serves on the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board and has previously chaired the U.S. Department of Energy's Task Force on Strategic Energy Research and Development.

Drawing on his extensive knowledge and status as a leading expert on issues related to energy, Yergin will deliver a compelling and informative keynote address titled "The New Energy Future in the New World Economy?" During this speech, he will discuss how great changes in international politics, the global economy, technology and the environment will shape the future. He will draw on various scenarios that could impact world energy, such as what would happen if oil loses its monopoly position in fueling our cars, and address the conflicting choices and visions for the world economy.
