As communicated in IT Notices 61/13 and 63/13 NASDAQ OMX Nordic will perform verification tests of the site failover functionality in the Genium INET production environment on Saturday October 5th, 2013. The system will be available for participants for login and standard reference data and business queries. No other type of business functionality will be enabled.
The EMIR regulations require NASDAQ OMX as a clearinghouse to test its business continuity and disaster recovery plans at regular intervals. Required conditions for the tests are that they involve scenarios of large scale disasters and failover between primary and secondary sites; and that they involve clearing members and other relevant stakeholder in the financial infrastructure.
As the trading and clearing functionality is integrated on the Genium INET system, and as testing is limited to connectivity and queries, the failover test is offered to all type of participants
Participants are recommended to take advantage of this opportunity to test their connectivity and ability to failover to the NASDAQ OMX Site B. Please note that only participants that have connectivity to site B can participate in this test.
The failover verification test will be available for the participants in the following markets in the NASDAQ OMX Nordic Genium INET system:
- NASDAQ OMX Stockholm AB derivatives markets (including derivatives on Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Norwegian shares and indices)
- NASDAQ OMX Stockholm AB Fixed Income markets
