Beamz Interactive, Inc. Announces Former Jefferson Starship Guitarist Craig Chaquico Appeared on NPR's "Off-Ramp" Show

Article and Radio Interview Titled "Jefferson Starship Guitar God, Craig Chaquico 'Beamz' Onto Catalina With a New Instrument for the Masses" Is Available for Listeners Online

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - Oct 24, 2013) - Beamz Interactive, Inc. (OTCQB: BZIC), an emerging growth technology company specializing in state-of-the-art interactive music products, is pleased that former Jefferson Starship member and current new-age/jazz guitarist, Craig Chaquico -- a Beamz supporter since 2011 -- was a guest on a recent "Off-Ramp" radio program on Southern California's NPR station, KPCC, on Saturday and Sunday, October 19th and 20th. The interview was titled, "Jefferson Starship Guitar God, Craig Chaquico 'Beamz' onto Catalina with a New Instrument for the Masses."

The radio interview was done to celebrate the guitarist's opening of the 2013 Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival October 3rd, on Catalina Island. Chaquico played to a mesmerized crowd on an outdoor stage on Descanso Beach. The sold-out crowd was treated to Chaquico's unique style of rock and contemporary instrumental guitar playing, and the otherworldly qualities of the Beamz Player throughout his performance.

"We're very pleased that Craig continues to support us by using our Beamz player in his performances and goes out of his way to talk about his experience to KPCC's prestigious Southern California NPR audience," said Charlie Mollo, CEO of Beamz Interactive. "I've seen Craig play in concert myself and his use of the Beamz brings a magical quality to his shows, particularly when he describes his influences and the meanings behind many of his songs. For him to discuss with the NPR audience how Beamz brings a fresh new interactive component to his performances is a huge validator. Craig continues to be a great ambassador for the Beamz product and we hope the listeners enjoy him as much as we do."

Chaquico added, "On our way to the Catalina Jazz Festival I had the opportunity to talk with NPR's Hank Rosenfeld about my Beamz player. He was totally into it and wanted to explore how I use it in concert, and how I integrate it into my music. It's easy. In the first place I call my Beamz 'Area 51,' so it already brings with it a magical and out-of-this-world component. People don't know what to expect, and when they finally experience it during my shows, it's unlike anything they've ever seen or heard. Eventually I invite someone up to the stage to play the Beamz with me, and they can't miss. Beamz doesn't know a bad note, so everyone is transported to a place where we're all grooving to these great sounds. I think we captured what it does to my performances. It's really a blast to show it to people on stage but it's also great to talk about it to everyone tuning in to NPR."

In the interview, Chaquico discusses his rock to new-age influences, and also how he's seen the Beamz grow on him, and how it helps him present his music so people listening are hearing the same harmonies that he wants them to hear. In a separate but recent interview, Chaquico stated, "With a device like Beamz, it reminds me of the early days and being in a studio with Jerry Garcia, Paul Kantner and others, and seeing our first Moog synthesizer. It changed everything…"

Chaquico is an original founding member of Jefferson Starship and Starship, and is the only band member and the only lead guitar player that played on every single album, hit song, tour, and video of the real band when it was still making hits. He was the one single continuous member on all the hits from 1974 through 1990.

Shipments are now available for the newest Beamz players, and anyone can order Beamz by Flo -- which comes with the Beamz App, over 20 chart topping songs and the new exclusive Flo Rida song "Laser Light Show" -- by visiting: www.beamzbyflo.com

About Craig Chaquico

Craig Chaquico (cha-KEE-so) has engaged and inspired generations of pop music fans, first as an original founding member and the only lead guitar player and principal songwriter for both the multi-platinum Jefferson Starship and Starship bands during the '70s, '80s, and all the way till the band split up in 1990 and stopped recording. Earning 20 Gold records with Jefferson Starship and Starship as an original founding member, lead guitarists, co-producer and songwriter, Chaquico was instrumental in making them one of the most successful bands in rock history. In the 1990s, after finding himself already at the top of the national charts in 3 consecutive decades, Craig left the fast-paced rock world and reinvented himself as an award winning, #1, Grammy-nominated, million-plus selling solo jazz/new-age/contemporary instrumental guitarist, songwriter, producer, and band leader. With his own #1s in BILLBOARD and in recognition for his CDs and songs he was voted GuitarPlayer Magazine Readers' Poll Winner for Best Pop Instrumental Guitarist and listed in Jazziz Magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Guitarists of All Time.
