Vaisala, a global leader in environmental and industrial measurement, announced today the publication of the company's sixth annual corporate responsibility report documenting the advancements in Vaisala's long term plan to reach our vision of becoming a world leading sustainable actor in selected market segments.
This year's report includes case studies on Vaisala's latest technological advancements, such as the 4th generation sounding system, CheckTime which helps airlines reduce the amount of deicing and anti-icing chemicals, and industrial instruments that improve yield and safety of operations.
Key highlights from 2013 include:
- Taking strategic steps into expanding the company's presence in the renewable energy markets with two acquisitions in the renewable energy industry.
- The Helsinki Office, the company's main manufacturing site, reached its zero-waste-to-landfill goal.
- The company has already reached its 2016 energy efficiency goal of 9% from a 2005 baseline.
- Launching a responsible supply chain scheme, with ESG-requirements, for suppliers.
