THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WORKFORCE BOARDS ANNOUNCES FORUM 2019

Washington, D.C., March 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) will celebrate its 40th anniversary at The FORUM, Powered by NAWB, which takes place from March 23-26 at the Hilton Hotel in Washington. The FORUM 2019 will convene more than 1,000 workforce industry professionals from across the country to engage with national and local leaders in business, government, and labor to discuss insights, ideas, and best-practices to address the future of work. Snap-on CEO Nicholas Pinchuk will offer the keynote address. Former Colorado Governor and current presidential contender John Hickenlooper gave the keynote in 2018.

“This year we witnessed workforce development issues take center stage on Capitol Hill and in the White House, so to host The FORUM here in Washington, D.C. at a time such as this, makes this year’s event extra special and important,” said NAWB President and CEO Ron Painter. “Forum2019 will focus attention on the growing questions around the future of work, and on sharpening professional skills and program effectiveness and efficiency. The FORUM is a great place to help develop the workforce leaders here who are more motivated than ever to take best practices and insights home with them to help their respective communities.”

A new addition at this year’s FORUM highlights the collaboration between NAWB and the Departments of Labor, Education, and Health and Human Services, which will offer leaders from each department to guide attendees through intensive technical assistant sessions. Another notable feature of this year’s FORUM is the Leadership Academy; a peer-to-peer professional development opportunity that pairs new workforce directors with veterans in the field for hands-on training.

Finally, for those across the country unable to attend The FORUM, NAWB will livestream ongoing coverage of its broadcast, “Live at The FORUM,” via Facebook. The show will feature real-time interviews of speakers, presenters and attendees. Follow NAWB’s Facebook page, here, for the livestream. NAWB will also provide live updates via its Twitter handle, @WorkforceInvest, and the official FORUM Twitter handle, @FORUMbyNAWB.
