These are exceptional and challenging times for all of us. The coronavirus is effectively forcing our way of living to come to a sudden full stop, creating feelings of uncertainty and concerns about the health of family and friends. We are monitoring the development of the pandemic very closely and taking measures across Corbion to safeguard the health of our colleagues and everyone else – our number one priority. At the same time, we are strongly focused on ensuring business continuity and securing deliveries to our valued customers, despite the headwinds.
Care – one of our company's values – never has been more evident, more needed and more relevant than today; it can be seen in the actions we are taking in many areas. We are working to ensure continuity in production (keeping safety stocks of finished goods), in the supply of raw materials (continuous monitoring and mitigation, and staying in contact with suppliers), and timely transportation (securing alternatives where needed).
We have banned all travel for our people, and those of our colleagues who can perform their work remotely from home are doing so. Those still working in our facilities are refraining from handshakes, hugging or any physical contact. Hygiene rules have been strengthened and re-emphasized throughout Corbion. Employees who show signs of illness are not allowed on site. These are just some of the ways we are dealing with the situation, and we have developed plans that prepare us for other potential scenarios.
Our teams at Corbion are standing strong, and working with our business partners across the globe, we are confident we will successfully navigate this unprecedented turbulence. We find motivation in knowing what we have to offer the world: ingredient solutions for important food and health care products that meet the everyday needs of people everywhere.
