Radyne's AeroAstro Business Unit Receives $2.1 Million in New Contracts
PHOENIX, Sept. 12, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Radyne Corporation (Nasdaq:RADN) announced today that its AeroAstro business unit was awarded contracts for two significant types of communication equipment. AeroAstro received a Phase II contract to continue development of a reconfigurable Digital Extra-Vehicular Activity Radio (DEVAR) in support of NASA's Exploration Initiative. This effort, funded through the NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, builds on the successful efforts of an earlier Phase I NASA award. AeroAstro teamed with Virginia Polytechnic Institute's Mobile Phone Radio Group, which will continue to work on the project. AeroAstro was also awarded a $1.2 million contract by a U.S. government agency for advanced communications technologies.
