Brit Insurance Holdings PLC -- Brit closes direct aviation book
LONDON, Aug. 4, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Effective August 4, Brit (Other OTC:BTIHF) will cease underwriting direct aviation risks, including airlines, general aviation and aviation product risks. The aggregate premium income of these lines of business was forecast to be approximately GBP60m for the 2003 year of account, of which approximately GBP22m has been already written. The account is currently forecast to be profitable for 2003.
SKF gains order for 100 systems for condition monitoring from GEO
GOTEBORG, Sweden, Aug. 4, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- GEO Gesellschaft fur Energie und Oekologie mbH of Enge-Sande (Germany) has placed an order with SKF (Nasdaq:SKFR) for 100 SKF WindCon systems. These condition monitoring systems of wind turbines are to be installed and in operation by the end of 2004. The two parties to the contract have also signed an agreement on "co-operation in partnership" reaching beyond this present order.

The Vodafone 60 Young Edition subscription gives mobile users 120 free call minutes a month, as well as 25 free SMSs to send to friends and family every month.
Statoil strengthens profitability in second quarter of 2003
OSLO, Norway, August 04, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Statoil ASA (OSE:STL) (NYSE:STO) achieved an income before financial items, other items, income taxes and minority interests of NOK 10.3 billion for the second quarter of 2003. This compares with NOK 11.1 billion for the same period of 2002. Adjusted for special items, earnings per share for the quarter came to NOK 1.71 as against NOK 2.80 in the equivalent period last year.
