"We have offered a variety of mobile games for quite some time now, but this is the first time we are launching a general knowledge quiz with a grand prize. Djuice aims to always offer the best mobile service concepts, and 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' is among the most entertaining games we've ever had," said director Dag Kittlaus from djuice.no.
Trivia to last throughout the autumn season
The mobile version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' will be launched next week, and will continue until December 30. Every game initiated will cost NOK 25 in addition to NOK 1.0 per answer. In each game, the player attempts to answer 15 questions via SMS. As with the TV show, competitors are given four alternative answers to choose from. There is a two-minute time limit to answer each question or to use a "Lifeline". There are three Lifelines; extended time, ask the audience and removal of two false answers, but each "Lifeline" can only be used once in a game.
A Hall of Fame will be located on djuice.no. where competitors can check the fastest times so far before attempting to beat it. The 500 competitors with the best time for a completed game before December 30 qualify for the finale. The winner of the finale can claim the million.
Djuice has entered into an agreement with Motorola securing exclusive rights for the mobile version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' in the Norwegian market, according to Motorola's strategy of offering content together with established brands known to the public.
