ADT Redefines Home Protection with Cybersecurity Products and Services

In 2018, ADT will Introduce New Cybersecurity Services and Partnerships to Protect Customer Networks and Data from Virtual Threats; Will Showcase Symantec’s Norton Core at CES Booth

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ADT LLC, a leading provider of security and automation solutions for homes and businesses, today announced the expansion of their award-winning monitoring service to protect customers from the dangers of the dark web. ADT Cybersecurity will defend against the growing list of virtual, mobile, data and identity threats from hackers and cybercriminals.

Security is engrained in ADT’s DNA, and while a home and property can be physically protected, emerging virtual threats can attack personal data. In November, ADT launched its Cybersecurity offering for Commercial and National Account customers with the acquisition of DATASHIELD. As a leader in security and automation, ADT believes everyone deserves to feel safe, and the company is redefining security to not only protect the physical premise, but also the network.

“54% of Americans are using unsecure Wi-Fi networks1, putting their data at risk every time they use the internet,” said Jay Darfler, Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets at ADT. “At ADT, our commitment to keeping customers safe doesn’t stop at the front door, so we’re building new capabilities and partnering with trusted brands to deliver the most comprehensive personal, data, mobile and Internet security selection on the residential market.”

Research shows consumers are more nervous about their data than ever before, and with good reason. According to a recent study from the Pew Research Center, 64% of Americans reported having experienced a data breach, and 49% believe their information is less safe than five years ago1. ADT believes everyone deserves to feel safe, and is preparing a new set of products and services designed to deliver complete peace of mind, including:

  • Personal Data and Identity Protection: ADT will monitor for alerts in all facets of the customer’s personal and virtual life, alerting them when a problem is identified. From credit and social security number monitoring, to dark web and social media network scans, ADT will become a trusted partner in the protection of their data.

  • Mobile, Web and Email Protection: ADT’s cloud and on-device services will scan, block and alert customers to troublesome activity, including viruses, malware, ransomware and spyware. Consumers will also get on-the-go surfing and streaming protection when they use mobile devices on public WiFi.

  • Home Internet and Device Protection: ADT has curated a portfolio of simple devices and customizable services to professionally monitor home WiFi networks, protecting computers, mobile devices and smart gadgets by partnering with leading cyber device brands. Customers will also receive parental and guest controls making WiFi management easier than ever.

  • Help, Resolution and Insurance: ADT’s service options will include resources to help fix problems when they arise. From continuous searches and automatic threat blocking, to live agent incident resolution and insurance to reimburse if an incident occurs, ADT believes you deserve solutions, not just notifications.

The ADT Cybersecurity offering will also leverage leading partner products to provide a complete, yet simple, menu of solutions for consumers. At this year’s CES, ADT will highlight Symantec’s Norton Core; a stylish in-home wireless router that strengthens the company’s digital safety offering for consumers and aligns with ADT’s vision to help everyone feel safe.

ADT Cybersecurity for residential customers will be rolling out later in 2018. To learn more, visit ADT.com/Cyber, or visit ADT’s CES booth located at Sands Hall B, Booth #42520. More information on booth location, hours and product information and images are available at ces.adt.com.
